Abstract

The study dealt with the method of upbringing of the Mamluks

The origins of the Circassian Mamluk state go back to the era of Sultan Qalawun from 678 AH / 1279 AD to 689 AH / 1290 AD, when he created a new element or group from the Mamluk elements. He paid for them and placed them in the towers of al-Qal`u, and they settled there, and relied on them as fortresses, and then when the reign of the sultan al-Ashraf Khalil ibn Qalawun came to power, he followed the approach of his father and relied on this element and bought two thousand slaves from them, and he had allowed them to descend during the day from their towers, so they became immersed in the middle of the crowd, after If they were isolated from the general public in their towers (1), and the Mamluks were originally linguistically slaves or slaves, because they were cursed, and the word owned is the plural of Mamluks, and it means the slave who is sold or bought, and the word owned is considered a word
