Abstract

This research paper discusses a topic that I think should be studied, as it deals with the chronological development of the term war through the eras of different Islamic countries, since the era of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - until the era of the Mamluk state approximately, and how the word or term war differed in historical works according to each era, as it varied between (Maghazi, factuals or Locations, conquests, etc..), And how the methods of the Historians differed in the recording of war news, whether by allocating individual writings in this branch of history, or by placing them within general history books, dedicated biographies (royal biographies), and in order for this to become clear, it is necessary to pay attention to the place of war news in historical knowledge before Islam, and then the transformation that was reflected in the codification of this branch after Islam, What are the reference origins of the recording of Islamic history, which contributed to the development of the term war in historical writing to other synonyms that became titles for military history works throughout the Islamic ages, and the research paper was divided into an introduction and three axes as follows:

A- The reference assets of historical writing.
