يعد الغزل من أكثر الموضوعات الإنسانية لصوقًا بالنفس ، وأقربها إلى وجدان الناس ، حيث استشرى غرض الغزل في العصر العباسي نتيجة الانفتاح على الأمم الأخرى ، مما سمح بتبادل الثقافات ، وظهر هذا واضحاً من خلال عالمي الشعر والنثر وغيرهما من الفنون الأخرى ، وفي ظل هذا التطور الهائل كان للمرأة دور فاعل في الحياة الثقافية ، مما جعل موضوع الدراسة يتناول: " تغزل النساء في الغلمان والعبيد في العصر العباسي بين اللهو والتمرد ، وذلك لكشف النقاب عن مقدرات المرأة العباسية الشاعرة سواء كانت سليلة بيت ملك أم من الجواري في ممارسة حقها في الحياة الأدبية آنذاك .
