Abstract

The study aims to identify the news programs that were shown on the MBC Misr and DMC channels during the last quarter of 2023, and to identify how these news programs were presented, their fields, and the timings of their presentation, and to reveal the reasons for the high viewership rates for the news programs that were shown on the MBC Misr and DMC channels.

The study resulted in several results, including the two channels in the study sample, which received the same percentage for presenting news programs during the study period. This gives an idea of the interest of these two channels in this type of program, and the form (individual dialogue with officials) came in first place as a form of the media material that was presented. Within most of the programs in the study sample, the form of readable news came in second place, and (societal issues) came in first place for most of the programs in the study sample, followed by (political issues), then followed by economic and artistic issues.
