Abstract

The real purpose behind Tacfarinas uprise was his accession to the Roman military system. He made full use of this in mobilizing and training his army to look like the Roman one. He tended to mix between Numidian styles such as Hit-and-Run attacks and guerrilla warfare being appropriate to the land topography. Moreover, he adopted the diplomatic policy path in seeking allies from the neighbouring Musulamii tribes, not to be surrounded by enemies. He gained support of Mazepa and Moors tribes Westward and Keneten tribes Eastward, as well as the tribes of the desert in the southern Mauritanian states. Consequently, the Romans were forced to wage wide-range battles, their troops were scattered in many frontlines extending from the southern Caesarean Mouritania Westward to Sirt Eastward. This led to Weakening the Romans' power , however, they finally managed to conquer him after losing gross loses to depress his uprise.
