Abstract

Sculptures of children in ancient Egypt were characterized by a symmetry and a wonderful artistic harmony, according to the ancient Egyptian artist.The feature of nudity in the statues, most of the scenes of childhood depicted children completely naked, most of them put his hand in his mouth and a thick lock of hair hangs on his temples, and they wanted to express nudity about the simplicity of childhood in general and the innocence and naivety in it, and there is another explanation for what most artists are doing The ancients, despite the possibility that it contradicts reality, and among these reasons is that they inherited the depiction of this situation from the early prehistoric times and imitated it, then they got used to it and considered it an artistic tradition that must be followed, or they accepted it as an artistic means expressing its modernity and simplicity of life Childhood in general. It can be said from the foregoing opinions that the Egyptian artist in the representation of children from carving and engraving in most of his statues and drawings is something that lacks realism and needs explanation, and the most acceptable explanation for this phenomenon is “that the artist only wanted to symbolize childhood and young age”, and they may have They inherited the depiction of this situation from the prehistoric eras that preceded them and imitated it and considered it an artistic tradition, then they became accustomed to it.
