Abstract

The study dealt with the geopolitical importance of Nigerian oil from the view of the consumption powers regionally and internationally. It shows the volume of consumption of the most important countries. The major powers the United States and China came in the first ranks, with a total consumption of 919.8 and 641.2 million tons for each, in order. The importance of Nigerian oil appeared in that Nigeria is the largest and the most important African source that the major powers have, as the research mentioned the relations between Nigeria and the oil- importing countries, That India ranks first in Nigeria’s exports with about 120.6 million barrels in 2018. The geopolitical importance of Nigerian oil from the OPEC's view and the organization beginning was mentioned to show Nigeria accession date . In addition, it presented its objectives that seek to unify petroleum policies among member states and control oil prices globally. Referring to the weight of Nigerian oil among member states and its impact on production and prices, and OPEC's position on the country. and finally about multinational companies in terms of their definition and the most important things that distinguish these companies from others and their geographical spread And foreign companies involved in the production and discovery of oil inside Nigeria and their impact on the state and its policy.
