This research aims at studying the implicit in French Novel, which is «

The Part of the Dead » by Yasmina Khadra. We can find this

phenomenon in all kinds of oral or written speech. Implicit speech also

occupies a very important place in literary works, as we can find it in the

narrator's speech and the dialogue between the characters. It can also be

interpreted by the reader when he reads. In this research, this pragmatic

phenomenon was addressed by dividing it into two main parts: the

presupposition, and the implicit speech that were used by the characters

in this novel, as their language was characterized by ambiguity and

allusion in the conversation. It has been verified that the presupposition

can be explained by the vocalization itself by means of a word or

expression within the sentence. As for the implicit speech, it is interpreted

through the context or the position of the utterance, as well as the

research dealt with the discursive implicits or (discourse laws) on which

the interpretation of the implicit speech largely depends. Badi'i

improvements such as irony, metaphor and exaggeration that

characterize the discourse in this novel were also studied.
