Biography of the Prophet between Heikal, Al-Akkad and Taha Hussein

Abstract

The life of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was filled with words, deeds and reports of scholars, past and present, and the scholars’ compilation of the biography in the old days had a character that a large crowd of modern Muslims who did not have a wide scientific knowledge wanted to study the conditions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Resorting to modern writings on the biography of the Prophet, and it was the best of what he pointed out to the great Islamic thinker Anwar al-Jundi, explaining their advantages and disadvantages.

The work done by modern writers to present the prophetic biography. He has played a good role, and made good effects in the hearts of Muslims. But it was not an original work on the path of the natural development of writing biography from the logic of the comprehensive Islamic concept based on the full appreciation of revelation, prophethood, unseen and miracles. Behind it are the whims, the differences between religions, the tendency of Western superiority, and the ambitions of Western influence to control Islamic thought.
