Abstract

The link between the linguistic vocabulary and sentences in the same text is an important basis for the formation of Arabic language structures, and from this importance the links - of all kinds - gain their great importance, and conjunction is one of the means of cohesion of text; Because it works to strengthen the links between the sequences of sentences in the text, and makes them coherent. A conjunction determines the way in which the elements of sentences and paragraphs are linked in an orderly manner within the text so that the elements of text become a coherent unit.

The conjunction in Arabic speech is a set of connecting letters that perform the function of linking the parts of speech, and each of these connecting letters has a meaning for the function it performs. The semantic value of linking in conjunctions lies in what is understood from the meanings given by these connecting letters through their function in homogenizing the parts of the text.

Conjunction or manner has also received wide attention among Arabic Language scholars in grammar and rhetoric. The grammarians dealt with it in the section on subordinates, and the rhetoricians dealt with it in the subject of separation and connection. Because of its importance, some scholars limited rhetoric to knowing the separation from the connection as the modernists of text scholars meant it, and they gave it great attention as being an important means of grammatical cohesion.
