Abstract

This Study tackles the geographical location of Daraw. The town is located between the two latitudes of 24ْ 22' 7" and 24ْ 25' 48" from North, and the two longitudes of 32ْ 54' 36" and 32ْ 57' 0" from East. So that, the town covers about three and half minutes of latitude and two minutes and twenty-four seconds of longitude, and origins and the administrative development of Daraw since it was an annexed part to Esna directorate in 1882, till it became the town of Daraw, annexed to Aswan governorate. Daraw was considered a newly established town in 1979, in spite of being related to its region from previous periods. The chapter also studies the urbanization growth of Daraw from 1976 to 2020; through the urbanization growth’s stages, the growth’s themes and trends, and the natural and human factors that affected the town’s urbanization growth, and urban problems that have been recorded during the field study in Daraw.
