Argumentation, alongside speech acts, is one of the most important pillars of deliberation, because it aims at communication and trying to convince the recipient with the suggested linguistic and rhetorical arguments and evidence. The primary goal of Argumentation is to convince the recipient through the utilized argumentative techniques or mechanisms.
This paper investigates rhetorical argumentation in Ibn Zaydun's poetry using the modern rhetoric conjunction of Perelman and Titikah's classification of argumentation. This classification, which is referred to as the modern rhetoric, denotes argumentation from a rhetorical and logical perspective that depends on inference and proofs, stemming from the techniques that help the recipient's acquiescence as a result of argumentative and deliberative speech.
This paper also concerns with the conjunctive methods which investigate the deliberative argumentative aspects of discourse highlighting the persuasive and influential dimension of a language, this includes the discursive value of the sentences which indicate rhetorical forms that urge their recipients to accept and implement them. The poetry of Ibn Zaydun is to be read through the abovementioned theoretical framework due to the poet's attempts to influence his target audience through the context of the verses and the used communicative techniques impeded within according to the deliberative approach that indicates the relationship between a language and its users in terms of the purposes concerned.
