Abstract

: Al-Fashni's warning about the nature of the letter of definition in the book Al-Qiladah Al-Jawhariya fi Sharh Al-Durrah Al-Bahiya Nazm Al-Ajrumiyah (analytical study).





Research summary: Grammarians differed in expressing the alif and the lam as a tool for definition. They also differed in what the definition letter (Al), and the designation of the original and the extra ones. Al-Fashni mentioned the opinions of grammarians about what the definition letter (Al) is through this alert, but he was satisfied with what Al-Khalil and Sibawayh went to; It is that the defining letter is dual, but they differed about the hamza, is it extra or original?, In addition to his reference to the doctrine that the defining letter is the lam alone, However, the grammarians in this matter are of four schools of thought. Al-Khalil argued that the two letters of definition -al- are original, and that the letter of definition is the alif and the lam together, and that the hamza in (al) is not superfluous, but is original, and that it is a cut-off hamza that is omitted when joining due to its frequent use, and Ibn Malik supported him in that, as Al-Suyuti agreed. Whereas Sibawayh went to the fact that the definition letter is the alif and the lam together, and that the hamza in (al) is superfluous, and that it is a linking hamza, and al-Zajaji supported him in that, and attributed it to the public,
