Abstract

The study aimed to identify the frameworks for dealing with news websites about the crisis of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. This study is considered one of the descriptive studies that used the survey method in its analytical part. The study was applied to a random sample of international and Arab news websites. It consisted of three sites, which are (Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Saudi Arabia, Al-Youm Al-Sabaa). ), and that during the periods of the first and second filling of the dam, by applying the theory of media frameworks using the content analysis tool.

The study sought to achieve a set of goals, the most important of which is monitoring and analyzing the news websites' treatment of the Renaissance Dam crisis, monitoring the media frameworks employed by the news websites in dealing with the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam crisis during the analysis period, identifying the pivotal words used in describing the issue of the Renaissance Dam, monitoring the paths of logical and non-evidence. Logical treatment of the Renaissance Dam crisis by news websites during the analysis period.

The "political reference" ranked first among the reference frames used in the sample sites.

- The study showed that there is a similarity in the three sites of the study sample in that the "low water share" ranked first among the repercussions of the crisis.

- The results confirmed that the objectives of addressing the Renaissance Dam in the news websites of the study sample agreed that the first place was "media and news".
