The use of satirical videos on social networking sites (Tik Tok) and their impact on the social values of Egyptian youth "A field study"

Abstract

The research aimed to find out the extent to which young people's use of satirical videos on social networking sites "Tik Tok in particular" reflects on their social values and their awareness of that, and to monitor the motives for using satirical videos on the Tik Tok site, which is a descriptive study that was applied using the media survey method on a random sample. Of the Egyptian youth, consisting of (400) respondents, the research found the most important results: 58.0% of the sample believe that the values ​​transmitted through satirical videos of the Egyptian society are inappropriate, while 36.7% believe that they are somewhat appropriate, 64.1% are not satisfied with social values and behaviors offered by satirical videos on Tik Tok, 54.6% of the respondents agree with the extent to which satirical videos can change the authentic social values in society on Tik Tok, in addition to that 72.0% watch satirical videos on Tik Tok for the motive of "spending leisure and entertainment", and 48.5% They watch satirical videos with the motive of presenting the truth in a satirical way, and there is a correlation between the intensity of exposure to watching satirical videos on Tik Tok and its impact on the social life of Egyptian youth.
