Abstract

The current study sought to achieve a main and important goal represented in identifying the traditional industries and crafts associated with palm trees and their distinctive features in the research community, determining the societal vision of the mechanisms used in the development of traditional industries and crafts related to palm trees, and relied on a set of methodological and theoretical procedures, which were represented in the functional theory and the entrance In addition to the anthropological approach with its field tools such as interview, observation and photography, this study has reached many results, the most important of which lies in the fact that the value of the palm is not only in its material return, but we find it goes beyond this function to its historical relationship with the man of the Nubian region and his culture, where this tree appeared "palm" with the emergence of organized communities in the Nile Valley region, and that the traditional industries associated with the palm can represent an added value to comprehensive development programs to raise the standard of living of the population of this community.
