Abstract

The research deals with the study of Britain's goals from the policy of non-interference in the Spanish Civil War 1936-1939 AD, where the research reviewed the conditions of Britain prior to the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. However, it was suffering from a very difficult economic and financial crisis, and a tired army that needed rehabilitation, so Britain followed a policy to avoid war on the European continent, because it saw political stability in Europe as a factor in increasing its economic growth and avoiding fighting a war on more than one front. Therefore, Britain tried during the period that followed the First World War to invest its victory over the Middle Countries by preserving the status quo, whether in Europe or outside it, to establish its position and restore what was destroyed by the war, so it relied on the principle of collective security (Collective Securety), which depends on the League of Nations (League of nations) in solving international problems. The research also dealt with the situation of Spain prior to the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, which also suffered from instability in its political situation. The study dealt with the objectives of Britain from the policy of non-interference in the Spanish Civil War, many reasons gathered behind Britain's desire not to interfere in the Spanish issue, including economic reasons, political reasons, and social reasons.
