The Tourism Sector and Its Influences for Economic and Social Development in Egypt

Abstract

There is no doubt that the tourism sector has become today one of the most important sectors that can be relied upon to contribute to achieving the desired economic and social development. The importance of the tourism sector has become obvious in recent times. So, most of the world's countries have been endeavoring recently to develop that sector and achieve what is known as the real tourism industry, that is because it has an obvious role in achieving economic and social development, and the study aimed at several goals that the research seeks; among of which are:

1- Showing the tourist advantages of Egypt and its position in international tourism.

2- Highlighting the position of the tourist sector in the national economy, and the role that it can play for social and economic development.

3- An attempt to evaluate the performance of the tourist policies applied in the Egyptian tourist sector during the term of the study, and its reflections on the growth and development of the tourist sector.

4- Identify the prospects of tourist development in Egypt within the light of the state’s interest in tourism development; that is through identifying the problems and the obstacles that faced the tourism sector in Egypt throughout different stages of development, and the possibility of developing it during the coming stages, besides the attempt to set some policies that aim to achieve two basic goals.
