The research dealt with the study of how to discover the African continent and establish colonies in it, and the motives and reasons for the colonization of Nigeria. Among the main goals of the modern European discovery movement, which is access to the goods of the East, Nigeria is one of the largest countries in Africa in terms of area. He established commercial relations with it, especially after Europe, led by Britain, began important scouting trips and incursions into the African continent from the beginning of the fifteenth century until the eighteenth century. It is because this measure is for purely commercial reasons. It was not possible to do any trade with Africa before the slave trade was eliminated to make room for normal trade. It took the process of fighting slavery as a means to inspect the ships of other countries and impose their leadership on the seas. The British had contacts on the African continent since the fifteenth century and they worked to establish colonies. This was for many of the reasons and motives that prompted Britain to colonize Nigeria, and one of the main goals of the modern European discoveries was to reach the goods required for Europe, and it worked England set up a group of commercial companies with the aim of controlling the trade movement in the Niger region, such as the trade in gold, perfumes and salt, and the slave trade was abolished .
