Abstract

The research deals with the study of diseases and loss of sight and their impact on political isolation in Andalusia (300-635 AH / 912-1237 AD). The research reviewed the concept of political isolation in language and terminology. There have been many concepts of political isolation and different definitions. The research also dealt with the diseases suffered by those in high positions in Andalusia, as well as the loss of sight, which were among the main causes of political isolation. The political isolation of those who were afflicted with diseases or loss of sight was not limited to a specific group in the country, but rather those who were afflicted with the disease or lost their sight were exposed to isolation. His sight, whether ministers or judges, and others who were due to these diseases and their loss of sight lose their positions, as the holder of that position becomes unable to perform his job role in the state, and is unable to carry out his work tasks properly without a defect or negligence on his part. Therefore, the ruler of the state would dismiss him because his remaining in his position would be useless, so a decision would be issued to remove him and appoint someone suitable in his place to serve the state. We also reviewed the most important rulers during whose reign political isolation took place, and the position of these rulers on isolating those in power in the state.
