Abstract

Ibn Al-Wardy covered through his writings a diverse range of subjects, ranging from linguistics to jurisprudence and history. His diverse authorship is an indication of his great intellect and cultural awareness. This research describes who Ibn Al-Wardy was and discusses his explanation of the Alfia of Ibn Malek known as “Tahrir Al-Khasasah Fe Tayseer Al-Kholasah”.

This research includes the following: His lineage, birth, title, nickname, upbringing, travel, teachers, students, writings, scholarship, death and his explanation of the Alfia.

The star of Ibn al-Wardi shone in the sky of the Arabic language and its sciences. His books were numerous in grammar, morphology, and literature. He was not satisfied with Arabic sciences only, but he excelled in other sciences such as jurisprudence, religious duties, and others. He left us a specific, sweet, and inexhaustible heritage of poetry and prose that attests to the depth of His thought, the clarity of his mind, and the breadth of his knowledge, and one who contemplates his explanation of Ibn Malik’s Alfiyyat “Tahrir al-Khasaasah fi Taysir al-Khalasa” will find that he did not content himself with explaining the grammarian’s words and phrases, but rather he corrected them, and put in alternative words to his words when necessary, and filled in whatever shortcomings he saw that were needed. , including adding conditions, precautions, and continuations, discussing some grammatical issues, and responding to the regulator.
