The ability of the mechanisms of the African peace and Security Council to combat armed conflicts and achieve continental peace

Abstract

This research consists of an introduction and two sections The results and recommendations included the problem that it highlights and stress the importance of activating the role of the African peace and Security council to resolve armed conflicts and the regional and international threats that may follow in the event that these conflicts get out of council fails to settle them peacefully at the right and appropriate time, whether the conflicts occurring are of an international nature or of a non- international nature, by resorting to activating the mechanisms that the council owns and using them in the manner designated for that purpose.

The researcher was keen for the research to clarify the legal system of the African peace

and security council, which organizes its work and is basic structure, which what was stipulated in the protocol establishing the council, which is the means of collective security on the continent and one of the basic organs of the African union this is after the means of settling disputes that the organization of African unity had were unable to achieve notable successes amid the number of disputes and conflicts that strike the African continent daily.
