Abstract

Summary of a research entitled:

The description of the poetic landscape in Alcools by Guillaume Appolinaire

In this study, we wish to explore the way in which the landscape is depicted in the collection "Alcools" by Guillaume Apollinaire. Exploring the twists and turns of the interrogative theme, we delve into the writing of landscapes, navigating between the urban and the rural to extract rich interpretations. From Paris to London, from Amsterdam to the Rhine region, we dissect the multiple facets and symbolisms of urban and rural environments, letting ourselves be carried away by the poetry of the places.

The landscapes tell the poet's epic quest for exploration and connection with the world. Among the elements that captivate the poet, there is this country where he immerses himself and which leaves an affectionate imprint on his mind. Coming from his travels in these lands, Apollinaire's sensual poetry comes to life to animate the regular pulsation of his being.

The landscape reigns supreme and undisputed master throughout this collection in the manner of Apollinaire. Our analysis aims to dissect a diagram depicting the fundamental features of the setting which reflects the state of mind of the characters in the poems. Thus, our aim is to explore both the urban and rural landscape.

This study explores the way in which the collection “Alcools” by Guillaume Apollinaire manages to capture and symbolize both urban excitement and village tranquility.
