Artificial intelligence mechanisms and their impact on the privacy of social media users

Abstract

This study aimed to.. clarify the extent of the danger of disclosing personal data and information on social media sites without the urgent need for it. The study also explains the role of artificial intelligence mechanisms in social media sites and the extent of the necessity of their adherence to humanitarian and legislative laws and controls when dealing with user data, with the necessity of activating laws and legislation. Which was enacted in Egypt and the whole world to criminalize direct violations of users’ privacy, with the competent authorities following up to verify their compliance with this.

Data was collected using a questionnaire form from 400 users of social networking sites.

The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are:

The “I oppose” category topped the list of categories that show the extent to which respondents accept hacking of their private information by websites in exchange for obtaining the services they request from them, with a rate of 25.9%, while the “I strongly disagree” category came in second place, with a rate of 20.8%, in The “Agree” category ranked third with a rate of 20.5%, while the “Strongly Agree” category came in fourth place with a rate of 20.3%. While the “neither agree nor disagree” category came in fifth and last place with a percentage of 12.5%, while the arithmetic mean value was (2.9364), while the standard deviation value was (1.45213).
