The research deals with the political relations between the Soviet Union and Tanzania from 1964-1985 AD. The importance of this study is due to the importance of political relations between the Soviets and the Tanzanians at that time. Because of the important events it contains, and Tanzania’s proximity to some colonial and racist regimes, the Soviets paid attention to the events in that region when the Zanzibar Revolution broke out. The Soviets were among the first countries to recognize that revolution, and the purpose of this was to spread its communist ideas in Tanzania and make it the eastern gateway to the African continent. After the announcement of the union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar, the Soviet Union recognized and supported the establishment of the new state of Tanzania in April 1964, and diplomatic relations began between them. These relations were strengthened by mutual diplomatic visits between the two countries, and the Soviet aid provided to Tanzania until 1985 AD..
