Abstract

The study of semiotics is one of the studies that has received the attention and care of many scholars and critics. This interest and care stems from understanding the literary text in an attempt to reach its codes and icons. By studying the semiotics of the Arab personality among the poets of Andalusia from the conquest until the end of the Taifa Kings, we have reached a set of results, including:

The name codes of Andalusian poets represented the Arab personality in all its types and forms. Many clear names appeared in Andalusian poetry that express the Arab personality, including: the names of many Arab poets in an apparent and clear way, and names that indicate religious inclination and Arab culture. The Andalusian poets also mentioned the names of their beloved ones in their poetry in the same manner as the Arabs, and the Andalusian poets also mentioned the names of their loved ones in their poetry. Arab kings and their princes, and Andalusian poets also mentioned the names of animals and birds.
