Abstract

Deriving Islamic legal rulings from religious texts like the Quran and Prophetic traditions hinges on a precise understanding of these scriptures, with syntactic rules playing a crucial role. These rules help determine word and sentence meanings, facilitating accurate extraction of legal rulings.

The first section, focusing on monotheism, uses syntactic rules to interpret Quranic verses about Allah's unity, such as analyzing "Rabb" in "The Lord of the heavens and the earth." It also explores syntactic nuances in verses emphasizing explicit monotheism.

The second section on prayer applies syntactic rules to understand legal rulings, like interpreting "and your feet" in "wipe your heads and your feet." It addresses syntactic disputes on ablution obligations.

Regarding fasting, the third section illustrates syntactic rules used to derive legal rulings, such as interpreting "him" in "So whoever sights the month, let him fast." It delves into syntactic interpretations of fasting jurisprudence.

The fourth section discusses Hajj's obligation for the capable, using syntactic rules to understand conditions and rulings, emphasizing that abandoning Hajj without excuse constitutes apostasy due to capability and legal obligation.
