Unpublished Nabataean inscriptions from Al-Goor site in southwest Sinai

Abstract

This research focuses on studying a number of Nabataean inscriptions recently discovered in Al-Goor site southwest Sinai. The site is located east of the city of Abu Zenima, southwest of Sinai, about 12 km east of the coast of the Gulf of Suez and on the southern edges of el- Ramlah Plateau. Nabataean inscriptions and rock drawings were revealed, along with rock shelters and simple huts, in addition to the presence of walls and dams built of stone and gravel to control the flow of torrents. This study is part of the researcher’s thesis to obtain a master’s degree titled (Evidence of the Nabataean civilization in South Sinai, a cultural study of the areas of Al-Goor and Swodod Al-Banat in El-Ramlah region, southwest Sinai).This article aims to study and publish these inscriptions and explain the reason for their existence and importance.The Nabataean inscriptions in Al-Goor site shed more light on the Nabataean presence in Sinai
