Abstract

The research deals with the dangers of landslides on the desert road Edfu Marsa Alam The research begins with the definition of the process of landslides and means landslides, landslides or landslides, as the movement of rock masses and soil down with the direct impact of gravity, and can also be defined as the downward movement that occurs as a result of erosion in rocks, and it is worth noting that the risks of landslides are related to the extent of their proximity to residential areas; they pose a threat to property and lives. (2) Landslide is a mass movement of soil, rocks, or debris down a slope, or across the surface of the earth, and it is completely different from mudslide, mudslide is a large-scale movement of fine particles, which are partially liquefied down, or on a slope This research discusses 1- First, the factors affecting the process of landslides on the desert road Edfu - Marsa Alam. They are 1- Geological structure 2- Inclination and slope 3- The effect of rainwater 4- Climatic conditions 5- Tectonic movements 6- Human factors Second, the manifestations of landslides on the road 1- Slides with a back cycle 2- Rock slides 3- Slips of rock fragments Third: The extent to which the road is affected by landslides1- Road structure 2- Road capacity 3- Road services 4- Safety includes A- Property damage B- Infrastructure damage C- Injuries and deaths D- Soil erosion
