Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of Egyptian websites in shaping the attitudes of Egyptian youth towards the issue of illegal immigration, by examining their rates of dependence on those sites, and monitoring the most important cognitive, emotional, and behavioral effects resulting from this dependence, within the framework of the theory of media dependence, This study used a survey method on a deliberate sample of 400 individuals from Egyptian youth from the governorates of Cairo, Mansoura, Sohag, and Aswan, which was applied in the time period from January 1 to March 30, 2024.

The study reached a set of results, the most important of which is: the high reliance of respondents on websites, as the percentage of those who always rely on them reached 62.0% of the total sample of the study, while the percentage of those who sometimes rely on them reached 30.5%. I explained the role of websites in shaping the attitudes of Egyptian youth towards the issue of illegal immigration.
