A future vision for developing library services skills in Al-Azhar institutes in Aswan Governorate

The libraries play a pivotal role in supporting the educational process by providing information services that contribute to the optimal use of available resources. The researcher observed a decline in the quality of library services offered at the Al-Azhar institutes' libraries in Aswan Governorate, which prompted him to conduct this study to improve and develop those services.

The study aims to assess the current state of library services in the libraries of Al-Azhar institutes in Aswan Governorate and to devise a strategic plan for their development in line with modern advancements. The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach, focusing on describing and analyzing the phenomenon and proposing appropriate development mechanisms. The study arrived at several key findings, including the lack of qualified human resources, deficiencies in the professional training of library staff, and the absence of modern technological tools and automation systems in libraries.

The study recommended the appointment of specialized librarians trained in library and information sciences, the organization of continuous training sessions to enhance their competencies, and the introduction of modern technologies for more effective library management. Additionally, the study suggested allocating a separate budget for library development and securing new information resources aligned with the modern educational curricula.
