Abstract

Industry flourished greatly in all the Levant countries due to the abundance of its resources. Among the most important industries are the glass and porcelain industries, which spread in the cities of the Levant, including Samarra, where there are different types of porcelain.

Among the ceramic industries known to Muslims were engraved jugs and handles. Glass industries decorated with engravings were also popular, such as glass vessels, cups, flasks, mugs, ornaments, windows, mosaics, and lamps called “mishkat” that resemble vases
