Abstract

Consumer protection is a fundamental principle for ensuring individuals' rights in commercial and service transactions. It aims to educate the public about their rights when purchasing goods, provide complaint channels, and prevent unfair or misleading commercial practices. It also includes a set of laws and regulations that regulate the relationship between consumers and suppliers or service providers. These basic consumer rights include the right to safety, the right to receive accurate information about products and services, the right to choose, the right to have complaints heard, and the right to compensation for any harm resulting from the use of a product or service.

Official bodies and civil society organizations play an important role in promoting a culture of consumer awareness to ensure a safe and fair commercial environment. They educate consumers about their rights and ensure that businesses comply with relevant laws and regulations. They also seek to monitor markets and ensure that merchants comply with approved laws and standards.

In light of technological development and the expansion of e-commerce, it has become necessary to strengthen consumer protection systems to keep pace with these changes by providing secure platforms and enforcing legislation that protects the privacy of consumer data and prevents online fraud and deception.
