Abstract
This study examines the reality of knowledge sharing among faculty members in the Humanities Faculties at Aswan University, with the aim of identifying obstacles, exploring activation mechanisms, and developing an applied framework to enhance such practices in the academic context. Knowledge sharing plays a vital role in advancing institutional performance and fostering innovation, yet its implementation in higher education often encounters challenges related to organizational culture, professional awareness, technological infrastructure, and intellectual property rights, as well as the role of university libraries.Adopting a descriptive-analytical approach, the research utilized a structured questionnaire administered to 158 faculty members, alongside a separate survey for university library specialists. The questionnaire covered eleven key dimensions, including demographic characteristics, general knowledge and attitudes towards knowledge sharing, sharing methods, technological enablers, academic leadership support, obstacles, proposed solutions, and the role of university libraries from multiple perspectives.Data analysis, conducted using SPSS, involved descriptive statistics, Cranach's Alpha for reliability, regression analysis, and ANOVA to assess differences across demographic and academic groups.Findings indicate varying awareness levels and inconsistent use of technological tools for knowledge sharing, compounded by weak institutional incentives, limited teamwork culture, insufficient awareness of intellectual property rights, and inadequate digital infrastructure. The study recommends fostering a knowledge-sharing culture through continuous training and workshops, upgrading technological infrastructure with dedicated digital platforms, establishing clear institutional policies for intellectual property protection, and empowering university libraries as active knowledge hubs. Such measures are expected to cultivate an open and sustainable academic environment that supports continuous knowledge exchange.
